The Central Park Barber services started in response to the pandemic of 2020. When the shutdown of all establishments occurred in New York City on March 13th, after 90 days of quarantine and being home due to lack of work, Herman James noticed people were in great need of a haircut. As a solution, Herman took the initiative and provided locals with the option to receive a professional haircut outside, which lowered and mitigated risks in comparison to being indoors. 

     Out of consideration for the many people who were financially impacted, Herman had no desire to charge anyone for his barbering services. He simply depended on the trust and confidence he had in people to support him. Throughout the spring, summer, and fall, Herman provides this accommodating service to the Central Park community/visitors. For the many inquirers who would like to contribute to this altruistic act of community service, the Central Park Barber subscription feature allows you to become a sponsor.
